HMIS New User Training

Comprehensive training on how to use HMIS for novices and those who need a refresher course. Learn everything from how to login, how to access online trainings, enter data and to ensure excellent Data Quality, as well as full utilization of the case management tools in HMIS. These trainings are mandatory to receive a HMIS license. To set-up new users in HMIS, please follow the process below. New Users will be given a license upon payment for license by agency.Have the new user:


HMIS Advanced Reporting Tool (ART) Training

The Advanced Reporting tool makes use of the information in HMIS to either generate an APR or to check your data quality. ART Training will focus on 3 reports and how to correct errors. The 0252 Data Quality Report card this report gives you a quick look at your data quality. The HUD required Annual Performance Report (0625 CoC APR) which provides information about your programs and outcomes. Attendees will also be provided training on the 0631 CoC APR Detail which allows you to check all the data being used in the 0625, so you can have an error-free APR. During the ART training we can also go over other reports as requested. Please take note that we will not be covering how to build reports from scratch.


HMIS Advanced User Training

Advanced User Training is for users looking to learn more than the minimum requirements of HMIS. Users will learn how to use SkanPoint, ShelterPoint, Administrator functions and more in this 2 hour training. Users may email the HMIS Data Coordinator to request specific trainings one week prior to training dates.


HMIS User Group Meeting

HMIS User Group meetings are designed to discuss any issue or concern from a USER level.  This is a time to troubleshoot concerns, ask questions, and receive critical information from our HMIS consultant.  HMIS Users can request that an issue be placed on the meeting agenda by emailing us at chspmontry3@aol.com at least two weeksbefore the scheduled meeting. HMIS User Group is also the forum for you to become informed and trained on any policy changes or additions flowing from the HMIS Oversight Committee.


Data Quality Cleanup Session

Data Quality is one of the most important activities to be performed in HMIS. It is important that HMIS data is complete and accurate.  The Data Quality Cleanup Session is a chance to have Community Technology Alliance (CTA) help you correct HMIS errors in person. Data Quality Report cards and laptops will be provided, although we encourage you to bring your own agency laptop to allow those without to have access. Please make sure you RSVP at least 48 hours prior to the session so we can have a report card ready for you. HMIS Oversight Committee

The HMIS Oversight Committee is comprised of high level decision and policy makers throughout the Continuum of Care.  National and local HMIS policies are discussed and recommendations made for CoC-506 implementation.  This is not a user training session and only those who were delegated to come are permitted to do so.


Coordinated Entry/CARS/HOME App Training

Comprehensive training on the Coordinated Assessment and Referral System (CARS), also known as Coordinated Entry. This training provides all the tools to properly administer VI-SPDATs in the HOME app. Users are given login information after training is complete.


CARS Phase II Training

Comprehensive training for Phase II participating agencies and users for the Coordinated Assessment and Referral System, also known as CARS. Phase II participants will learn how to get their clients onto the Active List using the HOME app.


CARS Admin Training

Comprehensive training for CARS/HOME App Agency Admins. Attendees will learn about CARS Policies and Procedures, deadlines and overall expectations of receiving agencies. Register below.
